Immediate checklist

  • Protect life, call emergency services, and eliminate continuing hazards.
  • Do not alter or recharge involved equipment except for immediate safety.
  • Preserve volatile logs and identify witnesses.
  • Document injury and property loss with objective evidence.
  • Evaluate FAA reporting promptly; do not wait until day ten.
  • Separately evaluate NTSB, local, workplace, insurance, client, and waiver reporting duties because FAA §107.9 is not the only possible obligation.
